Dr. Parker is passionate about dentures not only looking great, but also being comfortable. With his ability to add implant supports using the All-on-4® treatment concept for permanent dentures, they can be more comfortable than ever for patients in the Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Mission Viejo area.
What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept for Permanent Dentures?
This treatment approach involves four to six dental implants. The denture is supported by these implants and is completely stabilized. This procedure results in permanent dentures.
This is a way to get as close to your original teeth as possible. No adhesives. No removing the denture at night. Simply come back a couple times a year to our office near Mission Viejo to have the permanent dentures cleaned along with your natural teeth. You can even have your oral cancer screening to ensure your continued health.
Supporting and Securing Your Denture
Dentures can be supported in different ways. The traditional method of support is to rest on the gums and create a tight fit to stay as stable as possible.
As implants have evolved, they allow for a much more stable support. Several implants placed can allow the denture to snap in or actually screw into the implants. These dentures can radically improve the quality of life for the patient.
The confidence to chew without having to use messy adhesives or your own tongue to keep the denture in place is pretty amazing.
Some Things You May Not Have Known About Dentures
- The bone changes so much underneath the gums that dentures should be relined every 3 to 5 years to stay comfortable and fully functional.
- When cleaning your denture apparatus, avoid toothpaste as it will scratch them and allow plaque to build up, thus making it more difficult to clean.
- In our office, we have an ultrasonic machine that can get rid of the toughest buildup. We would be happy to do that for you whenever you would like.
