Traditional methods use an impression and a temporary dental crown for a few weeks with multiple appointments. We can have you in and out of our office near Rancho Santa Margarita in a couple hours with your new dental crown restoration.
There is nothing more convenient and clinically optimal. The damage to your tooth is minimized because it is restored the same day as it is prepared with porcelain crowns.
What is CAD/CAM?
CAD means Computer Assisted Design. CAM means Computer Assisted Milling. We can take a 3D scan of your teeth with a digital scanner. Dr. Parker then designs your dental crown or porcelain crowns, onlay, or inlay customized to your bite and surrounding teeth. That information is then sent to a milling unit in our Ladera Ranch office that cuts the restoration out of a solid block of porcelain.
What are the advantages?
The time savings and convenience factor of porcelain crowns is great. While the single visit to Ladera Ranch near Mission Viejo will be longer, it is nice to avoid missing work more than once or arranging for babysitting more than once.
While it is possible to do it in one visit, a dental crown treatment can be split into two visits if your schedule does not permit 2 – 2.5 hours for the visit.
Getting a restoration that is bonded and made from one single piece of material are advantages because the dental crown restoration is strong enough to last but can be conservative enough to let your tooth last as well.
